Plumbing & Water Treatment
No matter what your joint sealing challenges are, having Fluoramics thread sealants in your plumbing toolbox will help you get the job done right the first time.
In 1967, Fluoramics introduced Formula-8, the world’s first PTFE pipe sealant. Designed as a high-performance alternative to PTFE tape, Formula-8 is a shear-sensitive paste that sheets out into PTFE strings when torqued and delivers exceptional sealing performance on all sizes of threads. It maintains stability in environments of -400°F to +500°F, is solvent-free and non-hazardous, and has been oxygen tested and certified by BAM, and approved to use in food processing and handling facilities by NSF International.
LOX-8 Paste is a PCTFE/PTFE thread sealant and lubricant that is specifically formulated for use in wet, high-temperature and extreme low-temperature cryogenic environments. LOX-8 is approved for use with liquid and gaseous oxygen, and is immune to the effects of dozens of acids or bases that destroy other thread sealants. LOX-8 Paste is non-toxic and solvent-free, and it prevents galling in stainless steel fittings. Ideal for use in corrosive environments such as water treatment and wastewater plants where chlorine, ammonia, or urea is present, LOX-8 Paste has been approved for use in food processing and handling facilities by NSF International, and is also acceptable for use in chlorine service as indicated by The Chlorine Institute.
